Bryan McCann is a communications graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin and at the forefront of the death penalty abolition movement in Texas. A member of the Austin chapter of the Campaign to End the Death Penalty, he played a crucial role in the effort to save Kenneth Foster from his impending execution in the summer of 2007. McCann made national news in August 2007, when he and others in the Save Kenneth Foster campaign appeared on Democracy Now!. On March 11, 2008, McCann gave a talk at UT-Austin on debating the death penalty, focusing on knowing one's audience, providing a framework for debate, specific death penalty cases, and the state of the capital punishment system today. His presentation was part of the activities at this year's Anti-Death Penalty Alternative Spring Break. Right click to download and save. (31,749 KB) || Length: 1 hour, 8 minutes
